Joanie began his career creating visuals in musical contexts, playing clubs in Bristol every weekend and festivals all over UK. Later work happened over a six year period as a member of the AntiVJ collective who produced a number of ambitious video mapping projects around the world, and realized complex stage design for artists like Flying Lotus and Adrian Utley. In 2010 he started developing his first gallery works for art fairs and exhibitions. Many new challenges emerged: silent pieces, issues of installation, ambient lighting, maintenance and durability, and work placed in private collectors homes. During this masterclass, Joanie will share his experiences, insights and ongoing research.
