Community and Web Content Manager

Mandate:
MUTEK is looking for an individual who is passionate about electronic music and digital art to manage its multiple online platforms: social networks, newsletters, website, mobile application and various online project management tools.
The MUTEK team works in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere where everyone's voice is heard and appreciated. The successful candidate will work in tandem with the Digital Marketing Strategist, within the communication-marketing team. They are expected to attend production meetings, and will receive support to learn and master tools and web platforms. What we are predominantly looking for a person with a keen sense of responsibility and organization, creativity, initiative and curiosity. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to discover how a world-class festival works and take part in the stages of its deployment.

Task and responsibilities: 
- Develop and apply social media strategies: In collaboration with the communication team, deploy efforts on social medias platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, SoundCloud): track, adapt and respect scheduled publications, write French and English language copy, research and provide relevant content.
- Create website and mobile app content: Artist biographies, festival events, programming, news and current events, partner events, mentions and partner logos to be included in MUTEK’s CMS and Greencopper mobile app._
- Support new website launch: Help coordinate the launch of our new website along with the agency and the internal communications team; collaborate on the test phase, contribute to the transfer of data from the old to the new website.
- Perform strategic intelligence by keeping watch of new technology trends, digital creativity innovations and local and international music industry news.
- Propose editorial content – news, releases, text, audio and video about festival artists and IMG Forum speakers.

Profile:
- Degree in Communication, Digital Media or Journalism
- Proficiency in English and French (written and spoken)
- In-depth knowledge and interest in social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, LinkedIn
- Knowledge of collaborative working tools: Slack, Google Drive (Google doc and Google Sheet), Trello
- First-hand experience in managing online content, website administration, CMS or blog is an asset
- Strong interest in electronic music and digital creativity
- At ease with the specific rhythm of a festival and flexible to unexpected situations
- Autonomy, while having a collaborative team spirit

Eligibility, salary and duration:
Candidates must be eligible to the Emploi-Québec Employment subsidy. You can find out if you are eligible by calling your Centre local d’emploi.

Start Date: February 24, 2020
Duration: 30 weeks (end of contract in September 20, 2020)
Schedule: 35 hours a week - flexible, with increased availability as the festival approaches (August 25-30, 2020)
Wage: $15/hours

Copy Editor and Daytime Program Assistant

Mandate:
MUTEK is looking for a passionate individual to assist the programming and communications departments in bringing the 21st edition of the festival to reality (August 25-30, 2020). Candidates should be organized, versatile, autonomous, and meticulous. They will actively take part in the organization of the daytime aspects of the festival (Forum IMG and DIGI LAB sections) in an open-office, flexible and stimulating work environment. 

Tasks and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Daytime Coordinator, the incumbent acts as a bridge between the programming and communications teams to collect and coordinate crucial information to write and manage copy about festival content. They also assist in the logistics related to the hospitality and technical aspects of guest requirements. 

More specifically, tasks include:
• Research on speakers and guests
• Write and copy edit biographies and descriptions of works or content
• Verify online copy accuracy on an ongoing basis
• Contribute to uploading content or correcting errors (in a CMS site)
• Prepare slides and signage for conferences and panels
• Create and/or use follow-up spreadsheets such as Google Sheets
• Actively participate in coordination and production meetings
• Collect logistical data for hospitality and production teams
• Ensure daily updates and validate information from artists, speakers and partners (photos, logo, links) in a tracking document shared within the team; occasional direct communication or representation with partners. 

Profile :
- Degree in communications, translation, writing, literature or related field
- Bilingualism is essential to this position: The person must possess excellent writing abilities in one language, and very good skills in the other. Language skills will be tested during the interview.
- Excellent at writing and copy editing, and uniformizing information from various sources in a single style.
- Intimate knowledge and/or keen interest in electronic music, digital art and new technologies.
- At ease with the specific rhythm of a festival and flexible to unexpected situations
- Autonomy, while having a collaborative team spirit
- Ability to work with databases (we use Zone Festival), and capacity to several types of files (Google Doc, Google Sheet, Slack, Trello, etc.)
- Knowledge of the Office suite.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Candidates must own a laptop.
